Student travel product linking?

  • Linking student travel product to my OV-chipkaart fails.

    The possible causes of failure are:

    • You are using a (too) old version of your browser: downloading a more recent version of your browser may solve the problem.
    • Your card is already linked: have you temporarily stopped your student travel product and do NOT have a new OV-chipkaart? Then (re) linking is not necessary. Reapply for your student travel product via My DUO.
    • You have not yet applied for student travel product with DUO: check via My DUO if you have applied for it.
    • You have received a supplement request by e-mail and may not have read it: to be sure, check (the spam box in) your e-mail for a supplement request indicating what is missing in your previous link request. You can then complete the desired information via the link tool in the Mijn omgeving.
  • My last name is not yet entered in "my information.

    It is indeed possible that your last name is not yet filled in. This may mean that we have not yet received your information from DUO for your student travel product application.

    Have you applied for your student travel product entitlement via My DUO? If not, this is necessary before you can linking your student travel product.
    Have you already applied for this? Then you may have done so recently or your application may not have been processed properly. Check your details at My DUO.

  • Can I also link the student travel product to my OV-chipkaart via paper?

    If it is not possible to linking your student travel product with your personal OV-chipkaart online, you can request a paper linking form. Fill it out and send it back to us with the requested attachments.

  • Can Iink my student travel product to my OV-chipkaart from abroad via DigiD?

    Yes, you can linking from abroad. Make sure you have requested your DigiD with SMS verification in advance, as it is not possible to do this outside the Netherlands. How you can request this can be found via DigiD.

  • I did not receive a welcome email. How do I link the student travel product to my OV-chipkaart?

    You will receive the welcome email automatically when you have applied for study financing. You will receive the mail within one week after your entitlement to study financing has been determined, but no more than six weeks before your entitlement to study financing takes effect.

    Did you not receive a welcome email within a week after your right to study funding was established? And will your right to study funding and the student travel product take effect within now and six weeks? Then go to our linking page and provide the number of your OV-chipkaart to linking the student travel product.

  • Due to missing my data, I cannot use the Mijn omgeving . How is this possible?

    This may mean that we have not yet received your application details for your student travel product from DUO. Have you applied for your student travel product via My DUO? If not, this is necessary before you can linking your student travel product. Have you already applied for it? Then you may have done so recently or your application may not have been processed properly. Check your details at My DUO.

  • I have already linked my personal OV-chipkaart , but I don't have a student travel product yet. What should I do?

    Have you applied for the student travel product from DUO?

    No?
    Go to My DUO and apply for the student travel product. You will be kept informed of the progress by mail and email.

    Yes?
    If your application has been approved by DUO (and you have linked your personal OV-chipkaart ), then you can see in My DUO from when you can pick-up your student travel product at a pick-up machine. You can travel with the student travel product from the starting date.

  • Can I combine the student travel product with OVpay and the OV-pas?

    It is not yet possible to travel with the student travel product via OVpay. More information about when you will be able to use the student travel product together with OVpay will be available in the future. Keep an eye on studentenreisproduct.nl for updates.

    Is your OV-chipkaart expiring?

    Then the student must OV-chipkaart their OV-chipkaart at OV-chipkaart.nl. The student travel product will then be transferred automatically.
