Apply for temporary student travel product
As of July 1, new anonymous public transit chip cards are no longer being sold.
You can only apply for a Temporary Student Travel Product if you:
- have requested a replacement personal OV-chipkaart; and
- has an anonymous OV-chipkaart onto which the temporary travel authorization can be loaded.
Don't have your own anonymous OV-chipkaart ? In that case, you can only apply for a Temporary Student Travel Pass if you can temporarily use someone OV-chipkaart existing anonymous OV-chipkaart .
Have you OV-chipkaart your personal OV-chipkaart , or has it been stolen, is it defective, or has it expired, preventing you from traveling? If you meet the above conditions, you can apply for a Temporary Student Travel Pass through our website. Once approved, you can usually start traveling again within an hour.
OV-chipkaart ?
Are you applying for a Temporary Student Travel Pass? If so, the Student Travel Pass on your personal OV-chipkaart will be blocked OV-chipkaart .
If you do end up finding your personal OV-chipkaart , simply link Student Travel Pass to that card again. You can then pick-up the Student Travel Pass pick-up a pick-up machine resume traveling with your personal OV-chipkaart.
No longer need the Temporary Student Travel Plan?
The Temporary Student Travel Pass is valid for 7 days and expires automatically after that. Therefore, you do not need to cancel it yourself.
Please note: If you decide to cancel your Temporary Student Travel Product yourself, your regular Student Travel Product will also be canceled. You will then need to reapply for the Student Travel Product through Mijn DUO.
The steps
Step 1: Check if you're eligible
You can only apply for a Temporary Student Travel Product if you:
- OV-chipkaart requested a replacement personal OV-chipkaart ; and
- has an anonymous OV-chipkaart the Temporary Student Travel Pass can be loaded.
Please note: As of July 1, new anonymous OV-chipcards are no longer being sold. If you don’t have OV-chipkaart anonymous OV-chipkaart, you cannot apply for a Temporary Student Travel Pass. You may be able to use an existing anonymous OV-chipkaart someone you know.
Don't have OV-chipkaart anonymous OV-chipkaart? Then you cannot apply for a Temporary Student Travel Pass. Have you OV-chipkaart your personal OV-chipkaart ? In that case, you are generally not eligible for reimbursement of the travel expenses you incur while waiting for your replacement OV-chipkaart.
