Apply for temporary student travel product
Have you lost your OV-chipkaart or is it expired, stolen or defective and therefore you cannot travel? Then you can use the temporary student travel product. With temporary student travel product you can resume your journey within an hour on average. You can apply for temporary student travel product via DigiD in the Mijn omgeving (this is preferable) or apply without DigiD.
Found yourOV-chipkaart ?
Please note that if you apply for the temporary student travel product, the student travel product on your regular OV-chipkaart will be blocked immediately. Do you find your old OV-chipkaart again? Then you can only travel with the recovered (old) card if you link the student travel product to that card again. After the linking the student travel product is ready for you at the collection machines. Once the student travel product is back on your recovered card, you can continue to travel.
Temporary student travel product no longer needed?
You can use the temporary student travel product for 7 days, after these 7 days the temporary student travel product will expire automatically. So you do NOT have to stop using temporary student travel product. But do you? Then you will also stop your regular student travel product and you will have to reapply for it via My DUO.
The steps
- Before applying for the temporary student travel product, read the terms and conditions.
- Check if your OV-chipkaart is really expired/lost/stolen/defective.
- Arrange/purchase an anonymous OV-chipkaart.
- Apply directly for a replacement OV-chipkaart. In the case of an expired OV-chipkaart, apply for a renewed OV-chipkaart.
