Terms and conditions of temporary student travel product

The temporary student travel product is intended as a bridge if you are waiting for a replacement card. For example, because your card with a valid student travel product on it is defective, lost or stolen, or if there is wrong data on this card.

 

Request

  • You cannot undo an application.
  • When your Temporary Student Travel Product is ready, your expired/lost/stolen/defective student travel product will be blocked.
  • Therefore, only apply for a Temporary Student Travel Product if your replacement or renewed OV-chipkaart has not yet been issued. You should not apply for a Temporary Student Travel Product if you have already submitted a coupling request.
  • You cannot appeal a denial of an application for a Temporary Student Travel Product.
  • It is an additional service and no rights can be derived from it.
  • You can only load the Temporary Student Travel Product onto an anonymous OV-chipkaart . Purchasing an anonymous OV-chipkaart must be arranged by yourself and cannot be declared.

Validity

  • You can only load the Temporary Student Travel Product onto an anonymous OV-chipkaart . You must arrange the OV-chipkaart yourself.
  • You may not let anyone else travel with your Temporary Student Travel Product.
  • The Temporary Student Travel Product is valid for seven days and expires automatically. You may use it until you can travel with your student travel product again. By this we mean until your replacement or renewed OV-chipkaart has been delivered and/or the student travel product is ready for you at a pick-up machine .
  • If your Temporary Student Travel Product expires automatically after seven days and you still cannot travel with it, you can reapply for the Temporary Student Travel Product. Note: you can only do this a limited number of times (consecutively)!
  • You do not have to stop the Temporary Student Travel Product. (When you stop the Temporary Student Travel Product, you stop your regular student travel product and have to reapply for it again).

Cost

  • The Temporary Student Travel Product is a free service.
  • You cannot claim travel expenses during the period that you have a valid Temporary Student Travel Product loaded onto your OV-chipkaart . Even if this OV-chipkaart was not usable, because it was defective, for example.
