    No, this is only necessary if you no longer want to use your student travel product. Temporary student travel product stops automatically after seven days.

  • After using a Temporary Student Travel Product, how can I travel with my student travel product again?

    The Temporary Student Travel Product is valid for a maximum of seven days.

    • If you have applied for a replacement or renewed OV-chipkaart, the student travel product is automatically on it and you can travel with it immediately.
    • If you have purchased a new personal OV-chipkaart , you must linking the student travel product to this card and then pick-up the student travel product at a pick-up machine.
  • My application for a Temporary Student Travel Product has been rejected. What should I do?

    If your application for a Temporary Student Travel Product has been denied, go through the following steps. First, apply for a replacement card if you have not already done so. Then check if you are eligible to claim your incurred travel expenses and save your travel tickets. You can then submit a travel expense claim once you have a replacement card and can travel again.

  • I entered incorrect information when applying for the Temporary Student Travel Product. What should I do?

    Submit a new application with the correct information. Notice:

    • Make sure your date of birth matches the date of birth known to DUO.
    • Did you enter a wrong e-mail address and therefore submit a new application? Then you will receive a rejection for that second application because an application is already being processed. You can ignore this rejection. The temporary student travel product will be ready for you.
  • I cannot apply for Temporary Student Travel Product because I have reached the maximum number.

    You have applied for the Temporary student travel product and receive a notification that you have reached the maximum number of applications. This notification means that you are no longer entitled to a Temporary Student Travel Product and from now on will travel on your own account.

    The Temporary Student Travel Product is a service for students with card problems and is intended to bridge the period of card replacement. You can apply for the Temporary Student Travel Product a limited number of times, namely two applications per lifetime of a personal OV-chipkaart.

    If you want to travel with your student travel product again as soon as possible, request a replacement OV-chipkaart immediately. You will receive it within three days.

    If you believe your ticket problem has not yet been resolved through no fault of your own, check whether you are eligible for any reimbursement of your travel expenses. In that case, keep your travel tickets. You can then submit a claim as soon as you can travel with your student travel product again.
