Validity per product
A Student Travel Product lets you travel by public transport for free or at a discount in the Netherlands. If you’re living with your parents, a weekday subscription to travel to uni or school might be handy. If you have your own place, a weekend subscription might be more useful. You can’t use your Student Travel Product for night buses or train travel with Thalys and Eurostar. To travel with Intercity Direct, you'll need to pay a supplement.
Weekday subscription
- Travel for free on weekdays
- Travel on credit with a discount (40% by train, 34% by bus, tram, subway, and waterbus) during the weekend and on public holidays.
Weekend subscription
- Travel for free during the weekend and on public holidays
- Travel on credit with a discount (40% by train, 34% by bus, tram, subway, and waterbus) on Mondays and from Tuesday to Friday after 9 am.
- Travel on full credit from Tuesday to Friday before 9 am.
Important: the check-in time is what counts. If you want to travel for free on a Friday, don't check in before noon (12 pm).
