Link the student travel product to your OV-chipkaart.
Step 3 is linking your OV-chipkaart to the student travel product. To make this step successful, we ask you to do the check below. If you can answer yes to all the questions below, you can start linking!
1. Have you had a message in your MijnDUO that your application has been approved?
- Yes, I have applied for my student travel product and received notification from DUO that my application has been approved.
- No, I haven't been notified yet. Then quickly check our frequently asked questions!
2. Do you own a personal OV-chipkaart with your personal data?
- Yes, I have a personal OV-chipkaart with the correct personal data.
- No. Then go back to step two!
3. Did you receive an email from studentenreisproduct.nl asking you to linking your card?
- Yes, I have received an email from studentenreisproduct.nl that I can link my card.
- No, I haven't received an email from student travel product yet. Please check our frequently asked questions!
You cannot yet travel with the student travel product after linking . Continue to the next step when your card is linked.
Other products on your card?
We advise you not to put any other travel products on your OV-chipkaart with the student travel product. Do you want to use another travel product in addition to the student travel product (such as a season ticket with a public transport company)? Then put this on a different OV-chipkaart than the one containing the student travel product.
Do you still choose to combine your student travel product with another travel product on one OV-chipkaart? Then the extra costs you incurred because the student travel product did not work properly are not eligible for reimbursement.
Start linking
Linking can only be done through our Mijn Omgeving. The Mijn omgeving is secured with DigiD so no one can just linking under your personal information.
To get here directly you can click on the Mijn Omgeving button at the top right. To help you get started, we have also put a button at the bottom to get directly to the Mijn Omgeving .
After logging in, you can press the linking button and add your OV-chipkaart ! You can only have one card linked to the student travel product. Do you have a new OV-chipkaart? Then you can start linking it again in the same way.
- Previously used the student travel product and had your card replaced in the meantime? If so, there is a good chance you will need to linking your OV-chipkaart first. Always check in the Mijn Omgeving which card you have linked.
