My OV-chipkaart has been stolen/lost

Has your personal OV-chipkaart been stolen or lost somewhere along the way? Then you need to do the following to be able to travel again:

Report your card lost/stolen first

If your OV-chipkaart is lost or stolen, report this via My OV-chip. Your card will be blocked (within 24 hours) and can no longer be used. So always check first whether you really have lost it.

Apply directly for a replacement OV-chipkaart

When you report your card stolen/lost, you can immediately request a replacement card via your My OV-chip. You will receive your replacement card within a week on average.

Apply for a Temporary Student Travel Product

To bridge the time you are waiting for a replacement card, you can use the Temporary Student Travel Product. Buy an anonymous OV-chipkaart on the go and order the Temporary Student Travel Product online. It will be waiting for you at a pick-up machine within an hour.

Please note that the Temporary Student Travel Product is only valid for 7 days and cannot be applied for indefinitely. So quickly apply for a replacement personal card and put the student travel product back on it.
